Hey Terry

An update on Sony Vegas Studio and your reference link to the Platinum version so that the buyer also gets Architect.

According to Sony, Vegas Studio 9 includes Architect, so one doesn't need to buy the Platinum version to get that... which will save someone approx. $40 :-)

Sony product comparison chart is here:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiope/compare

Link to Vegas Studio 9 on Amazon (no affiliate link):

Sony Movie Studio is a great tool. It's simple to learn and powerful enough for the average information product developer.

Hi Joe,

I would use Vegas Movie Studio from the beginning if you're going to put together DVDs. It's the easiest solution I've found to work with (there are stronger programs but they have longer learning curves also).

I won't be going that much into the recording equipment on this series as that information changes very quickly. It's more likely I'd do a post here about it sometime than a video.

Hi Terry,

It looks like Vegas Architect is a powerful yet user-friendly program.

Do you recommend beginners jumping right into Sony Vegas Movie Studio, or is it better to get some experience with one of the free editing programs available?

Also, will you be making suggestions about recording equipment (camers, lights, micropohones, etc) for non-Camtasia videos?

Thanks for the interesting post.
