Do You Have Corporate Protection?

I rarely talk about corporations and business structures here, even though they’re often vital to your internet business.

I’m not an accountant or a lawyer so I don’t feel qualified to advise you on that topic. As you can see from any of my sites I operate as an LLC, but this is not something I discuss in any of my products (business structures).

So today I want to introduce you to someone who can help…Thomas Abelsen and the Corporate Service Center who have helped form over 30,000 corporations with full step-by-step guidance and support. All the information below is provided by their office.

Why Do You Need a Corporation?

The corporation or LLC is an autonomous legal entity, created separately from those who own and operate it. The entity separates a businesses debts, taxes and liabilities from its owners thereby offering the greatest tax savings and personal liability protection of all business structures. And, because the corporation continues to exist even after the death of a shareholder, it offers tremendous estate planning advantages.

Top Four Reasons To Incorporate

1. Save Thousands of Dollars With Legal Tax Deductions

Take advantage of hundreds of corporate tax deductions that may legally lower the amount of tax you might otherwise pay! Find out how to truly live the corporate lifestyle and put more money back in your pocket.

2. Protect Your Personal Assets From Business Lawsuits

Lawsuits are on the rise in this country. If you’re in business, the chances you will be sued are very high. Don’t lose everything you have worked so hard for! Make sure that you are properly insulated from out-of-control trial attorneys. Incorporating keeps your personal assets safe.

3. Build Corporate Credit

Build corporate credit that is completely separate from your personal credit record. Imagine being able to obtain unsecured credit cards, lines of credit and even purchase real estate in your corporate name.

4. Credibility, Believability

Having the INC or LLC designation after your business name can mean the difference between landing the client or not. Consumers want to make sure that the business is reputable and the owner is serious. Having an INC or LLC does just that.

Why Incorporate In the State of Nevada?

Each month, more than 5,000 corporations are formed in Nevada, with more than 80% of them formed by people who live outside Nevada. You can live and run your business from anywhere and still form your corporate entity in Nevada. Remember, Nevada has no state corporate tax, no personal income tax and no franchise tax. Plus, Nevada is one of the few states where the corporate veil (the legal barrier between your personal assets and your business liabilities) has never been pierced, except in instances of deliberate fraud. The corporate veil may be pierced much more easily in other states. For example, in some states, 45% of corporate veil piercing attempts are successful. That’s 45%!

At Corporate Service Center, Inc. we are so certain that Nevada law will provide you, your family and your business with maximum legal protection that we offer a $100,000 guarantee that your corporate veil will never be pierced.

Why is the Corporate Service Center offering this deal? First of all, they want to help you get registered and protected by your corporate structure. In addition, they have numerous other services to help you manage and get the most out of your corporation. They lose out on the frontend money, but they build a long-term relationship with you for other business services you may need.

    Terry –

This is a very important article, and I hope people act upon your advice to protect themselves.

I’m married to a California tax lawyer, and as soon as I started my business I had him form an LLC for me.

You have to keep in mind that forming an LLC may not be right for you even if it’s free (minus filing fees, state fees, etc). Do your homework.

Most people are Sole Proprietors and “one man” operations. It’s extremely easy to work and operate as a S.P. And LLC requires more work and more paperwork and has many more restrictions and rules. And, depending on the individual, may not be cost effective.

For an overview of these things, read this article:

    Phyllis:

I agree that people need to protect themselves carefully.

    Dave:

Definitely. Just because something is free doesn’t mean it is for you (remember there are still fees required by the state so it’s not free – just their service is).

Everyone should consult with their attorney and tax accountant on what is the best choice for their situation and NOT rely on any free information on this topic (including my site – remember I’m not a lawyer, accountant, or in any way qualified to tell you what you personally should do).

Thanks for posting this, Terry. This is one of those important topics about business that hardly anyone talks about- maybe because it’s not as exciting as “Get a million visitors per day” or “Make $100,000 overnight” – but is probably as important as anything else you could write about.

    Thanks Terry for this one..

Hello everybody there, although I am not int the united states (I live in Morocco).. I believe that having a corporate presence has his advantages and disadvantages.

The equivalent of LLC here in Morocco is called SARL (Societe A Responsabilite Limite), and I am planning to form one in the next 6 months except that in Morocco it is not as easy in the US.

This is an absolute ‘must’ for anyone in business, which we are, as Internet Marketers. The only thing I mind is that this is only for the US, when I am Canadian. I would love to have someone like this company in Canada.

Thanks for this post, Terry, I might just have to talk to the legal people here, to see if this is required in Canada… It’s called “due diligence”.
