Footer Ad Test
Quite a few subscribers have been contacting me about the footer ad I’ve been testing on this blog recently.
It has been set to appear once every ten visits (there are a ton of options built into it to set it for whatever you want including testing different ads). On the visit where it appears you’ll see a little ad slide up from the bottom offering you the ability to subscribe to my list.
To all those who’ve asked about it, I’ve only been able to respond that it is just in the testing phase and was not available for purchase at the time. Graham Cox simply contacted me and sent me a copy to try it out during its beta testing phase.
He is releasing it today as Ultimate Footer Ads.
Some of the features it has are:
- Works with virtually all autoresponder services – including Aweber, GetResponse and Email Aces.
- Fully customizable Ads- including the headline, call to action, font style, font size, colors and more!
- Create and add your own custom graphics templates – simply drop your template into the script directory and it will automagically appear in your admin panel, ready for you to use.
- Unlimited Domain License – profit exponentially by using UFA on all your sites.
- Two different Ad Types: Standard (clickable) Ads and Opt-In Ads – redirect traffic to your offers or generate leads. Or rotate both types…it’s up to you.
- Total Control of how often your ads display – multiple options for how often return visitors see your ad, including ‘Always‘, ‘Never‘ and ‘Once every X visits‘
- Split Test Multiple Ads – Test 2 or more ads to exponentially boost conversions.
- Rotate Multiple Ads – Show different ads to return visitors and test different offers.

The normal price is $47, but you can get it for $27 till March 19th through my link (the page still says $47 but make sure it says $27 when you get to the order link).
How has my test worked out? So far this little footer ad has produced an extra 159 subscribers…and that is using a GENERIC version that comes with the kit.
A couple of people even commented that they didn’t think it could work because the version I used didn’t even tell you what you got for free when you subscribed.
But I didn’t want to spend much time in setting it up to try it out (basically about 10 minutes to install it and used the graphics which came with it). That is a much more fair test of the software than me getting some custom designed graphics done for it.
Since I’ve seen how many subscribers it has produced I will eventually get some graphics designed for it. I have no doubt this will improve the results. In addition I’m going to test it on more sites.
Is it for everyone? No. Obviously if your site isn’t generating very many visitors yet, it won’t work for you. No traffic means no one sees the ad. But if you have a decent amount of traffic this is less intrusive than a popover…and it’s worth a test.
Remember the price should show as only $27 when you get to the order form (instead of the $47 on the sales page).

Got something to say?

Terry,
I have seen you use it in the past few days and was wondering where you got it. I am definetly going to get it as soon as I get some commissions through Paypal. I am averaging about 30-50 subscribers per day so I want to test that and see how it works out.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Tal
Thanks for the info and the discount Terry.
I’m seriously considering buying this baby! At $27, it’s a no-brainer.
Hope to get more subscribers
Hey Terry,
Love the footer ad, but my extensive “eye-ball based testing system” says DISCARD THE GREEN!
Cheers!
Jon
This system is an interesting twist in leveraging your visitors curiosity for getting your them to return in the short term.
Personally I think 1 out of 10 may be a little stretch and causing too many dropouts, I will go for 3 or 5.
Anyway we will discuss that after testing right?
Thank you for bringing this neat system to our attention.
Hi Terry
I saw this product last year, and bought it because I saw no one use it, and people were still using the pop up drop down feature, this seems better. I saw Lee mcintyre using it on his blog, he must of saw it on your’s.
But I never used it in the end, I forgot like you do when you buy products lol, will give it a shot if people are having sucess with it.
Regards
Danny
Hi Terry,
Thanks a lot for the post.
Btw, regarding the green color that you may have seen used on Terry’s footer ad. In the beta version, that somehow ended up being the default color in the color picker (the final version now defaults to black – #000000) and as Terry was just testing Ultimate Footer Ad out, he kept that green for the headline.
I’m not sure if that was deliberate or not on Terry’s part…to see if UFA could still convert visitors to subscribers despite using an unattractive color for the headline. But good to know it can!
Cheers…Graham
Hi Graham and Jon,
My goal was simply to use the default “as is” in the test without making any changes to it to make it as “fair” of a test as I possibly could. Someone else could copy what I did and do it exactly without thinking in 10 minutes. As you mentioned you changed the default after you provided me the script.
Terry
Terry,
It is not March 19 but it is saying that it costs the usual $47. Can you get a new link or something like that for us. I am going to get it before March 19 with your link.
By the way, is this a ONE time payment or a monthly thing?
Tal
Hi Tal,
The sales page stays at $47. It doesn’t change. The order form should show $27 BEFORE you purchase. You click the order link on the sales page and should see $27 as the price on the order form. If you do not, for some the coupon code didn’t install on your computer as you went through my link. If that’s the case you may want to make sure cookies are enabled on your computer or try clicking through my link on a different computer.
Terry
Just bought the product.
The one thing that this product is LACKING is “How To” or “WHAT TO DO” to get a code on your website.
I know HTML very good but I can not figure how to use this product.

Hi Tal,
There is a “docs” folder that has a text file called Installation-Guide in it. I’m by no means an expert with installations, but I did this install myself following that installation guide in just a few minutes.
Terry
Terry,
Found it and it looks easy to follow. Thanks for letting me know about this.

Hey Terry, I wasn’t really sure about the discount and when it will actually commence. You wrote “The normal price is $47, but you can get it for $27 till March 19th through my link (the page still says $47 but make sure it says $27 when you get to the order link).” – Now it till shows $47 –
Hope it’s not my fault. But thanks for the info..
I followed the link to the footer ad download but it still says 47 dollars? If the link is expired do you feel this footer ad is truly worth it.
Hi All,
I just checked it now and it does appear the special is over. The price is now $47. I still think it is a good value at that level if you currently have some traffic at your site. Obviously as mentioned above, you need visitors for it to generate subscribers.
Hi All
Yes Terry is right, the special expired on the 19th.
Btw, the docs are also updated online for buyers of the script, complete with video tutorials.
Installing this software on my data base is way too complicated. Host 4profit is my hosting company and I can not seem to get this and how to install it.
Easier instructions would be better.
Tal
Hi Tal
Have you checked out the docs at Ultimatefooterad.com/docs ?
Otherwise, have you submitted a ticket at my support desk? I couldn’t find one when I did a quick search but it’s possible I’ve missed it.
Graham
Terry, I notice you removed the Ultimate Footer Ad. I’m curious what the results showed you. It seems more and more I’m seeing the opt-in box that appears in front of the page (with usually a blue hue that covers the page). It must be getting good results.
On another note. Do you have a good resource for a mini-site designer for an opt-in page?
Thanks.
LK
Leonard:
I haven’t removed it. I just have it to show up once every 10 visits. So you should still be seeing it at times. And you will see it on some of my sales sites appearing every time (when we do some updates on those sites).
If your goal is the absolute highest conversion of visitors to subscribers, the popover boxes (lightbox format) do have the best response. Some people find them annoying though so I use them at times…and other times no.
For a mini-site designer, I’ve used quite a few different ones. http://www.myminisitegraphic.com is very affordable and does good work.
Have you tried customising the images more to your site?
Here is an online version that is free and creates very good ads also

Hi All,
I’ve been reading up on this script, Ultimate Footer Ad.com and also another called SlideUp FX …
Has anyone tried out both and if so, which is the best one – which is the easiest to use and which is the most customisable ?
Thanks in advance …
Jane
I have not tested SlideUpFX so can’t comment on that one.
