Jay Abraham Shares His Amazon Secret
Jay Abraham was one of the people I originally learned from when I came online…and I’ve continued to buy his products throughout the years. I first learned about doing Joint ventures, the lifetime value of a customer, and unique selling position from him.
In this 10 minute video he shares how to use Amazon to help you put together winning ads. I found it very unique and had to share it with you.
I originally noticed the video on Rich Schefren’s blog.

Got something to say?

Thanks for pointing that video out Terry. I especially liked the way he used the comments. Gay Halbert talked about taking the table of contents from all the books on a given topic and combining them to create the ultimate resource book for that topic as well.

Yes, this sounds good and certainly practical but it does not answer the most important question of all — after we lift off all those hot-button phrases from Amazon reviews, does OUR PRODUCT deliver that promise or not?! Is it RELEVANT to our product? Amazon review copy is keyed to a SPECIFIC product. It is correct for a specific book. When we lift those phrases out of that context and apply it to an different product, what are we doing exactly? It’s like reading a love poem written for Jane to Mary, etc. Aren’t we mechanically aping emotions that belong to a different product? And isn’t that in effect CHEATING to sell something? Isn’t that tantamount to creating an ILLUSION of empathy by just using verbal wizardry? How honest is that?
Wow! What a great video. I love his book, but have not purchased many other things from him.
Thank you for the comments…
I agree completely Jason. You definitely should not apply phrases to a product where they don’t apply.
I would actually see what Jay teaches here as an incredible tool for creating a new information product. Do your research. Find out what is selling and what people are looking for. Then develop a product that fulfills all that. In fact, you’ll often find the best time to write the rough draft of sales copy (or at least the outline for it) is before or while you’re developing it instead of waiting till after it’s done.
Thanks Terry for the link to the video. I appreciate the time you take to add little snippets of wisdom like this to our toolboxes.
Brendan.
