Traffic From Blog Comments

Here is another simple video on how to generate traffic and incoming links for free using blog comments.

Blog comments are a way to take part in the community while generating traffic to your site. In some cases (when commenting on sites with the Do-Follow plug-in installed, you can even improve your search engine rankings). Watch below for more information.

    Hi Terry,
I really like the video and this was the first time that I had heard of putting your keyword in the name field of the comment form.
I’ve done that on this comment and will take your advice for future comments on relevant blogs that I follow.

    Thanks for the great advice,

    Greg

    Nice video again Terry!

My purpose of doing blog commenting is so that visitors click on my link instead of for SEO purposes, because I have pay for SEO services to build links to my sites.

So I typically only target those blogs that have a good Alexa rank (below 1,000,000) to ensure that there are enough traffic to that blog already. So that when I post comments, I want the blog visitors to click on my link.

Another trick that can be used is to include a “signature” at the end of the blog comment where you promote your site, much like a forum signature. The difference being a blog signature should be shorter, typically a few words to avoid being too blatant promoting your site.

    Cheers,
    Welly Mulia

    Hi Terry

Great point on this many people don’t know that when you leave your comment that, in some cases don’t have that no follow plug-in. all they see is a link back to their site not knowing that your site could increase page rank…

If it’s ok I use this FREE tool buy Neil shearing http://www.reallinkfinder.com/
All you do is type in a keyword that is related to your niche market and clicks go, then it pulls as many blogs as it can with the follow only blogs so that you can take advanced of getting page rank. Great tool

Hope this come in handy for some people

    All the best Danny

I guess I’m not alone in ‘not knowing’ about the name highlighting. What a neat idea!

“FREE tool by Neil Shearing”, is another great idea – makes searching for the ‘follow, all’ a lot easier. I did know about this one, but just haven’t used it yet. Anything that can shorten the learning curve, has to be great.

You’ll notice I called it “follow, all” – that’s cause I have FireFox, which shows the Page Source in ‘Tools’, making it relatively easy to find the ‘robot tag’.

Thanks again, for all the excellent tips and training. I’m still young enough to learn.

    Hi Terry,

Great blog that was. I find your blog very informative and genuine.
This is an excellent method of generating traffic to your site without necessarily using any “tricks” to achieve the same thing.

Using a signature in “foreign blogs” as a method of generating traffic is frowned at by some bloggers. I guess the do follow plug-in if installed is a useful method of traffic generation.
    Great work Terry

Excellent post. Thank you for some very cogent tips on blogging comments. Also, Daniel’s comment about Real Link Finder was on the mark. I’ve used it, and it works fairly well, especially for a free product. Neil Shearing does good work.

Thanks for these niche tips, and we’ll keep “following.”

Actually, I’ve found in two separate sources mention that nofollow links do help you SEO wise. Apparently the point of nofollow is to deny page rank from being passed to the linked-to site. The link itself is considered for SEO, it just doesn’t benefit the target site as much.

    Hi Terry,

Just saw your video, great stuff, especially since you highlighted me :) I love it.

A few extra’s to throw in, is i create a spreadsheet of all do follow blogs, and I make notes on it as to whether they allow keywords in the name field. Even if they do, i usually for my first post is to use my real name so they know I am not just using their blogs for link building and then i come back and use my name with keywords in it, and as you said, add to the discussion.

I also will use different anchor texts and urls, and if a blog is a high authority, PR blog, do not care if its no followed, for I still get traffic, helps with yahoo and msn and even for longer tail kws, ive seen some help in there, i know there is some debate if these links count, they do count, but are they passing page rank juice…not sure but getting a link on an authority blog, even no followed, still helps just on a traffic standpoint.

As for some of the software to find do follow blogs, i have found many of them just ok, b/c alot of the links are still being no followed. the best one i have used is http://www.easybacklinker.com, he has a WSO offer for $10 a month, much better than the free stuff out there. I have found great very high PR sites that in my niches that are do followed. Now he does have the same issue as some of the others where links supposed to be do followed are in fact no followed but I have emailed him about that and is working on fixing that issue, either way, its the best i have used and i have used most of the free ones out there.

    Chris

PS – I also like to sign my name, to me it tells the blog owner i am a real persona not just using your site for my links

PPS – Terry, not only do we have our faith in common, like yourself, one point in my life i was stuck delivering pizzas…just one way God was taking pride out of me, :)

You gave me some ideas, I also have seen some good lists of do follow blogs, but one thing I am going to do and others want to do is go ahead and post a job, where they will go and look at each blog and make sure they are still no followed, indexed and active, I have seen many times the blogs will go back to no follow for whatever reason. Once I get my personal blog up, I m using it mainly for business talk and will use the do follow as to get more traffic and activity to it, so good stuff.
